Plumonito
My name is Plumonito. I am a costarican copper dog, 2.5cm tall and 3cm long. I am quiet and have a contemplative personality. I enjoy travelling and hitchhiking, I’ve done it most of my life. I met my best friend, Daniel, around 2002 when I hitched a ride with Santa and I got mixed with his presents.
We had a cold start but around 2005 we became very good friends and we started to travel together. Daniel has been my travel partner ever since. Daniel also introduced me to my second passion, photography! Well… I don’t really like to take the pictures, I’m a bit clumsy with the camera. But I love to pose, can you find me? 
I bet you can’t…
A while ago I was thinking that I would really like to see Europe. Not just a city or two, but a bunch of them. Really travel around, meet people, see the landscapes, try the foods. And then I thought of Daniel! It may sound awfull, but this guy is easy to manipulate. You give him a challenge and he will take you around the world (literally)!
So I challenged him to a bike ride across Europe. From Spain to France… why not to Germany? I bet you can’t do it until Slovakia! It worked like a charm. Now Daniel has been training for more than two months for what will be our biggest ride ever. He’ll do the pedaling, I’ll enjoy the scenery.
More than 2200km, from Girona, Spain, to Teplá, Slovakia. We estimate 2 months, but that will depend on the size of the mountains and the number of flat tires.
When?
We’ll leave Girona on the 4th of July. We’ll have a go away party in Llançá that evening. After that, the only fixed date is the 9th of September, when Daniel needs to be back in school. If we are not done by then, I may continue the ride alone… but I’m not that keen on biking.
This is the toughest ride ever!
No, it is not. I’ve seen people ride longer, harder, and farther. With more weight and less budget. We are not that special. You could do it too, everyone could. But this is not about you or any other biker, this is about us. I know I’m ready for it, but I can see that Daniel is terrified. You can train all you want, but will it be enough for 2 months? What if we get lost? Who has the time to learn the 6 languagues we’ll need on the ride? Are we ready to camp night after night? We can’t even cook!
This is a test of spirit. The bike is just a tool. I’m sure you’ve got a tough spirit too. Have you tested it? Which is your tool?

You really got to this crazy guy who can’t stand to say No very much like Marty McFly… Remember to keep the pedaler hydrated or else the trip could drop shorter… bummer. Good luck to you both!

puff, increible, la única receta para este tipo de cosas es fortaleza mental.
Mucha suerte de camino, y recuerda tener cuidado con la alimentación, come carbohidratos preferiblemente. Masajes, aunque te los tengas que hacer tu mismo, son obligatorios.

Se me olvido, si puedes, un GPS puede ser de gran ayuda, y ahorrarte bastante energía en caso de perderte.

Aja! A real biker, Andres M, sent some real suggestions. Personally I’m not up for massaging Daniel… but Couchsurfers/Hosts are welcome to take note of the advice! Thanks for the suggestions, will keep them into account. GPS is not included to force Daniel to talk to the locals, at least while asking for directions.

I hope you guys are ready for the journey! I wish you good luck and don’t forget if you get lost just enjoy the ride… You journey is an inspiration….. (I am including part of one of my favorite poems as my good luck charm to both Dan and you!).

Dany, que te puedo decir, desde el dia que me contaste, me dio miedillo más por el hecho de ir solo que por el viaje en si, bueno, aunque va Plumonito y eso me tranquiliza un poco [te acordás que yo te lo regalé hace varios años?]
Espero que todo salga como lo planeaste, que el sol no te afecte mucho, y que encontrés buenas personas que te den alojamiento en el camino, gracias a ellas desde ahora! Aquí estaré pendiente y si sentís que alguien te sigue…es el angel que ya pedi para que te cuide.

probably as the last one before your depart… I wish you the most exciting journey, hope that you will meet a bunch of great people along the way and will profit from the challenge awaiting. Let every following day your body and mind be stronger and more and more resistant to the obstacles ahead (hopefully not that many of them).
Remember your goal, and retain the motivation, let the tracks I left you enforce you when necessary.
Mainly take care and bon courage on your way.

Ahora sí que te puedo desear buen viaje, porque hasta que no te hemos visto salir no tenía claro que lo estuvieras diciendo en serio…:p Aunque igual nos llamas esta noche para recogerte, ajjaja! Anyway, ya sabes que si estás a menos de la mitad del viaje (más lejos es cosa de Jan) y te das cuenta, así de repente, de que no tienes ganas, pues te recogemos y nos vamos de fiesta.. aunque conociéndote no creo que te des por vencido
En fin, cuidate mucho y no le quites las ruedecillas a la bici hasta que no vayas completamente seguro. Lo de los masajes es una buena idea, por preguntar a las CS que no quede…

Je suis très heureux de suivre ton voyage sur ton site parce que c’est une façon d’y aller avec vous deux, le petit chien et toi.
J’avais songé tout ma vie de faire une exploit pareille et j’ai réussi quand même a parcourir les chemins du Canada, et d’y trouver un peu de ma propre vie et de mieux me connaître. Donc je suis sur que tu profiteras chaque instante et que tu seras un mieux être humain après l’aventure.
Mais je dois te dire que j’aurais bien aimé de vous accompagner et de partager toutes ces nouvelles expériences, les beaux paysages, la nourriture, le gens. Quelqu’un m’avait appris un jour que dans un nouvel voyage, il y aura toujours une personne spéciale qu l’on connaîtrai. L’expectative de trouver ce personnage est émouvante et mystérieux.
Je te souhaite, pardonne-moi, vous souhaite bonne chance et j’aimerais voir bientôt tous les photos et d’entendre des anecdotes et incidents du voyage.

Me uno a la gran cantidad de gente que te está deseando lo mejor, no hay dinero que pueda pagar toda la experiencia que vas a tener y la cosas maravillosas que veras que al final es lo único que a uno le queda y nadie se las quita . Que me dice Dany, espero que todo le salga tuanis en esta larga travesía, que semejante paseada se va a pegar, que dichoso. Ojala no tenga que usar nada de repuestos de la cleta y que llegue a la meta establecida, acuérdese que esos viajes en bici los comenzó conmigo hace muchos años (96-97) allá en los caminos hacia el rincón de la vieja, siempre que iba de paseo a Liberia nos echábamos un ridecillo jaja.
